Women’s Track & Field: Rogahn-Press Takes Sixth at NCAA Indoor Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Macalester College first year Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) finished in sixth place in the 400 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday in the Golisano Training Center at Nazareth University. The performance earns Rogahn-Press All-America status, which goes to the top eight finishers.

Rogahn-Press placed fourth in the second heat with a time of 56.43. Brynn Mooney of SUNY Geneseo won the second heat and finished first overall with a time of 55.69. Augustana's McKenzie Reser won the first heat and finished second overall in 55.82. MIAC Champion Allison Hookom of Augsburg took third in 56.15, followed by Kamiyah Wooten of North Carolina Wesleyan in fourth (56.23) and Natalia Sawyer of Buffalo State in fifth (56.40). Rounding out the top eight were Sarah Schermerhorn of Hope in seventh (56.48) and Lindsey Novak of North Central (Ill.) in eighth (56.50).

Yesterday, Rogahn-Press qualified for today's final with a school-record 55.97, which was the fastest time in the prelims on Friday. The time is just .06 off the all-time MIAC record of 55.91, set in 2018 by Bethel's Delia Labatt. Rogahn-Press is Macalester's first All-American indoors since Phoebe Aguiar '19 won the 800 meters at the 2019 Indoor Championships.
