COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) finished fifth in the pentathlon on the first day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at Saint John's University Thursday.
Myatt totaled 2881 points over the five events to score a personal-best 2881 points. She opened the competition with a 10.00 in the 60-meter hurdles, then cleared 1.34 meters (4-4.75) in the high jump. In the shot put, Myatt's toss of 12.46 (40-10.50) led the competition and earned her 692 points. She closed out the competition with a mark of 4.85 meters (15-11) and a 2:45.70 in the 800 meters. The performance earned Myatt All-MIAC honorable mention status, which goes to the athletes who place 4th-through-6th in each individual event.
The MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships resume on Friday, Feb. 28, with the field events beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Saint John's.
