ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team will send a strong contingent to the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held Feb. 27-Mar. 1 at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
Competition begins today with the pentathlon. Sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) has the sixth-best score among MIAC competitors this season with a personal-best 2778, registered at the Mark Shuck Open in Mankato on Jan. 31.
The Scots have several competitors ranked high in the track events, which begin on Friday at 4:30 p.m. First year
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) has had an impressive start to her collegiate career with school records in the 200 meters (25.23) and 400 meters (56.22). She ranks fifth in Division III and first in the MIAC in the 400, and 18th nationally and second in the MIAC in the 200. Rogahn-Press also will compete in the relays.
Sophomore
Diarra Chatham (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge), the defending MIAC champion in the 60-meter dash, ranks fourth in the conference in the 60. First year
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) has the ninth-fastest time in the 60. Another first year,
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), looks to score in the mile and the 1000 meters, while sophomore
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka) ranks seventh in the 5000 meters.
In the field events, Myatt has the second-best MIAC mark in the shot put of 12.66 meters (41-6.5), which is a school record. Sophomore pole vaulter
Seneca Wilson (Durango, Colo./Durango) and first year high jumper
Juliet Reichardt (Tiburon, Calif./Marin Academy) both rank seventh in the MIAC in their events.
Tickets for the Friday and Saturday sessions are $12 for adults and $3 for students per session. Two-day passes are $27 for adults and $9 for students. All ticket sales will be handled online by
