COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track & field team competed at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday, recording eight podium finishes. Final team scores were not recorded.
The Scots had two athletes achieve second-place finishes at the meet. Sophomore
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./ Anoka) finished second in the 5000m with a time of 18:39.07, placing herself seventh on the school history leaderboard. Sophomore
Timna Nevo (Portland, Ore./ Sunset) also took second in the 1 mile in 5:33.02.
In addition to Norquist, many Scots put their mark on school history. Junior
Roen Boyd (Minneapolis, Minn./ South) recorded the sixth-best ever height in the Pole Vault at 2.62m.
Ava Russell (Evanston, Ill./ Evanston Township) threw a distance of 12.88 in the Weight Throw, the sixth-best Macalester distance ever.
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./ Concord Carlisle) rounded out the history makers with the 10th best 60m time in school history (8.21).
The Scots 4x400m relay team of Beckley,
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./ Northside College Prep),
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./ Whitfield School), and
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./ Roosevelt) finished third in 4:18.36.
The Scots will travel to Northfield, MN. next weekend to compete in the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic on Saturday, their last meet before the MIAC Indoor Championships.
