ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Macalester College women's cross country team competed against some of the top teams in the region and Division III at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, hosted by Augustana College Saturday afternoon. The Scots finished 17th out of 40 teams in the team standings, which included 11 teams ranked in the top 25 of the Division III rankings.
Junior
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka) had a tremendous race against an elite field, finishing 12th out of 349 finishers with a time of 22:03.3 over the 6000-meter course. Sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) was next for the Scots, posting a time of 23:04.1 to take 64th. Junior
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) placed 138th (23:49.6), followed closely by junior
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) in 160th (24:05.5). Sophomore
Tilia Iverson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) wrapped up Macalester's top five in 236th with a time of 24:50.3.
The race served as the final tune-up for the MIAC Championships, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Highland National Golf Course in St. Paul.
