HASTINGS, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team finished third out of 12 teams at the D3 Classic, hosted by Gustavus at Emerald Greens Saturday and Sunday. The two-round tournament served as the final preparation before next weekend's MIAC Championships. The Scots' two-round score of 622 was behind Bethel and Carleton, which tied for first at 608, and ahead of St. Catherine (626) and Wartburg (639), among others.
Junior
Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Ashbury College) closed with a 73 on Sunday to tie for fifth individually with a two-round score of 151. Junior
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) was one shot back to finish in eighth place, giving Macalester two golfers in the top 10. First year
Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) was next for the Scots in a tie for 19th, followed by junior
Scarlett Liu (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) and first year
Karina Serio (Colora, Md./The Tome School), who tied for 29th. Junior
Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) and first year
Mia Cluff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) tied for 43rd.
The MIAC Women's Golf Championships take place Sept. 28-30 at St. Cloud Country Club in St. Cloud, Minn.
