| By:
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team is set for the MIAC Championships, which will be held this weekend at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, Minn. The three-round tournament runs from Saturday to Monday.

As a team, Macalester has finished fourth in each of the past three years at the MIAC Championships. The program's best finish came in 2006, when the Scots placed third.

Senior Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) is a contender for the individual title after posting three top-six performances at the MIAC Championships, placing third as a first year, tying for fourth in 2024 and taking sixth last year. She leads the Scots this season with a stroke average of 74.6 over eight rounds, including two medalist finishes and a school-record round of 71.

Sophomore Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) has the Scots' second-lowest stroke average this season at 77.8 and has two top-10 finishes this season. Last year she tied for 10th at the MIAC Championships to earn All-MIAC honors along with Lengfelder. First year Yangyang Gu (Nantong, Jiansu, China/Shanghai Experimental School), who has a 78.0 stroke average in her first collegiate season, has three top-10 finishes this season. She led Macalester at the St. Kate's Fall Invite Sept. 20-21, tying for ninth. Sophomore Mia Cluff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) and first year Esther Shen (Barcelona, Spain/The Benjamin Franklin International School) both have stroke averages of 80.0 this year and complete the Scots' lineup for the weekend.

Macalester tees off on Saturday at 11:50 a.m. Fans can follow the action with live scoring all weekend. For more information about the MIAC Golf Championships, visit the Championship Website.
