FARMINGTON, Mo. – The Macalester College women's golf team played in its first competition of the spring at the WashU Spring Invite, held Sunday and Monday at Crown Pointe Golf Course. The Scots finished eighth out of 15 teams with a two-round score of 651.
Senior
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) and first year
Yangyang Gu (Nantong, Jiansu, China/Shanghai Experimental School) tied for 18th with identical scores of +13 157 to lead Macalester. Senior
Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Ashbury College) and first year
Esther Shen (Barcelona, Spain/The Benjamin Franklin International School) tied for 48th at 169 to round out the Scots' top four scorers. Sophomore
Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel), who was playing as an individual, also shot a 157 to tie for 18th, while first year
Ava Aye (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian) finished 60th.
Macalester continues its spring schedule April 11-12 at the Kathy Niepagan Spring Fling, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill.
