Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) competed this afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Championships were held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Heitler competed in a field of 22 in the 400m dash. He ran a time of 48.29 to take 16
th. Due to finishing in the top 16, Heitler received All-American Second Team honors. He is the first All-American for the program since
Logan Hovie in 2016 for the high jump (indoor) and the first on the track since
Eric Klinker in 2000 in the 400m hurdles.
Heitler received All-Region honors this season, setting the fifth fastest time in the North Region in the 400m. He set a time of 47.30, which broke the school record. It also led him to a second-place finish at the MIAC Championships on May 11 for All-MIAC honors. He was also All-MIAC Honorable Mention in the 200m with a school record time of 21.61.
