Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The Macalester College women's tennis team blanked Western Connecticut State today, 9-0, in its third match of its Spring Trip. Macalester is now 5-3.
Slated at first and second doubles respectively, pairs seniors
Amanye Reynolds (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) and
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) and senior
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) and sophomore
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) shutout their opponents 8-0. At third doubles junior
Megan Twomey (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) and sophomore
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) beat their opponents 8-1.
Ellison at first singles and Ulrich at third singles both defeated their opponents with 6-0, 6-2 score lines. Reynolds defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-1 at second singles. Both Trevathan and Haugen blanked their opponents in two 6-0 sets at fourth and fifth singles respectively. At No. 6 singles, sophomore
Sedona Crosby (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) won 6-1, 6-0.
Macalester's next match will be Friday March 15. The Scots play Franciscan University at 7:00 am CDT.
