ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team honored its team award winners for the 2024 season at its year-end banquet on Dec. 8.
Senior libero
Torrance Williams (Houston, Texas/) was named the team's Impact Player. Williams led the Scots in digs for the fourth straight season, averaging a career-high 4.63 digs per set to rank seventh in the MIAC. She completed her career with 1,502 digs to rank second all-time at Macalester.
Senior defensive specialist
Jill MacInnis (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) received the R.I.S.C. Award, which stands for Resilient, Intentional, Support and Commitment. MacInnis served as a senior leader to the team this year and has been an ultimate teammate during her four years as a Scot.
First year outside hitter
Lily Johnson (Concord, Mass./Concord Carlisle) was chosen the team's Most Improved Player.
Macalester, coached by
Mary Johnston, posted a 13-15 overall record and finished seventh in the MIAC with a 5-6 conference mark in 2024.
