ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's swimming & diving team outscored both MIAC power St. Catherine University and Hamline University in a double dual Saturday afternoon at St. Kate's Butler Center. The Scots defeated the Wildcats, who have won three of the past four MIAC titles, 166-133, and beat Hamline, 238-33. St. Catherine also topped Hamline, 237-36.
Macalester won seven events, with junior
Emma Henry (Chesapeake, Va./Oscar Smith) winning twice. Henry captured the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.63 and won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:15.35. She also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.19. In the distance freestyle events, senior
Skye Schmit (Stillwater, Minn.) took first in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:19.46 and first year
Molly Nuckolls (Lawrence, Kan./Free State) won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.43. Other Scots who placed first in the swimming events were senior
Caroline Chapon (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.16) and first year
Maya Tellez (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.37).
Senior
Kate Yehle (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 196.00. She also took second on the 3-meter board with a score of 183.50.
Other Scots posting runner-up finishes include Nuckolls in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.43) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.52), Chapon in the 100-yard freestyle (55.75) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.86), senior

Next weekend Macalester will send a portion of its team to Chicago, Ill., for the University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic Nov. 22-24. The other portion of the squad will compete at the Grace Goblirsch Invitational, held at Gustavus on Saturday, Nov. 23.
