NORTHFIELD, Minn. – First year
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) placed 25th to lead the Macalester College women's cross country team at the NCAA North Region Meet, held Saturday at Carleton. Fox's performance earns her All-Region stats, which recognizes the top 30 runners at the North Region Meet. As a team, the Scots finished 21st out of 34 teams, with their top five runners consisting solely of sophomores and first years.
Fox covered the 6-kilometer course in 22:50.9 and was the seventh MIAC runner across the finish line. Two weeks ago Fox placed ninth at the MIAC Championships at St. Olaf to earn All-MIAC honors. Sophomore
Destiny Osemwengie (Buford, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) placed 119th in 24:57.3, followed closely by sophomore
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) two second back in 122nd. Sophomore
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) finished 139th, with first year
Megan Worry (Menlo Park, Calif./Notre Dame) taking 143rd to complete the Scots' top five. Senior
Sylvia Coyle (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) was right behind Worry in 145th, and junior
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill) took 162nd.
The region meet concludes the 2024 cross country season for Macalester, which finished in sixth place at the MIAC Championships.
