HAM LAKE, Minn. – The Macalester College men's golf team tied for fifth place at the Augsburg University Fall Invitational, held at Majestic Oaks Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday. The Scots shot a two-round score of 612 to tie with UW-Superior for fifth among 12 teams.
A pair of first years were the low scorers for Macalester, as
Luke Blankinship (Louisville, Colo./Boulder) and
Jean Fabre (Grasse, France/Fenelon Institute) tied for ninth individually with identical scores of 150. Sophomore
Brady Thomas (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck-Saint Mary's School) shot a 154 to tie for 23rd, while sophomore
Harry Cheng (Taipei, Taiwan/Heping Municipal) tied for 35th with a score of 159. Sophomore
Sean Maxfield (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) placed 47th and sophomore
Ben d'Entremont (Cranston, R.I./Moses Brown School) and first year
Theo Jones (Port Washington, N.Y./Roslyn) tied for 48th to round out the competitors for the Scots.
Next up for Macalester is the Minnesota Golf Classic, hosted by Bethel University on Sept. 9-10 at Pioneer Creek Golf Course in Maple Plain, Minn.
