ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association recognized Macalester College junior
Phebe Chen (South Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and first years
Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Asbury College),
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen),
Scarlett Liu (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) and
Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) as All-American Scholars for the 2022-23 academic year, the organization announced today.
This is the third year that Chen has received the WGCA All-American Scholar award. Earlier this year, Chen was included on the Academic All-District Team and was named Academic All-Conference by the MIAC.
In order to be selected to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, golfers must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and have played in 50% of the team's rounds through the conference championship. This year, a total of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers across all divisions were recognized with the prestigious honor.
