NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team sent sophomore
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) to Arkansas for the Arkansas State University Red Wolf Open, while the rest of the Scots headed to Northfield to compete in the Carleton Relays.
Heitler finished second in the 400m dash down in Jonesboro, Arkansas, registering a season best of 48.28. His time ranks 29
th in Division III and ranks third in the MIAC this season.
In Northfield, the Scots put on a strong performance. Sophomore
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville) won the 3000m Steeplechase with a personal record time of 9:37.61. McKee's time ranks third in the MIAC this season. Fellow sophomores
Tor Olsson (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) and
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) finished fourth (4:04.72) and fifth (4:04.98) in the 1500m run respectively. First year
Aki Wada (San Diego, Calif./Mount Carmel) took third in the 400m hurdles with a personal record of 1:01.30, which ranks 13
th in the MIAC.
In the field, sophomore
Max Menache (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills) and senior
Victor Wright (Cape Coral, Fla./Mariner) finished third and fourth in the hammer throw. Menache registered a mark of 45.32m (148' 8"). Wright's mark of 43.45m (142' 7"), is a personal best. Wright's mark also ranks fifth in Macalester history and currently ranks ninth in the MIAC.
Macalester's next meet is scheduled for April 27 and 29. The Scots host the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational at Macalester Stadium.
