ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming & diving team hosted Grinnell College in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at Riley Pool. The Scots were outscored by the Pioneers, 199-83 in the team scoring.
Sophomore
Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill) and first year
TJ Palli (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) each won two individual events. Batsaikhan placed first in the 100-yard breast stroke in 1:00.93 and won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:13.30. He also was fifth in the 200-yard individual medley. Palli won the 100-yard freestyle (49.18) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.68).
Sophomore
Isaac Kisker (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.07 while also taking fifth in the 100-yard freestyle. First year
Will St. John (McGaheysville, Va./East Rockingham) was second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:14.87 and was third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.95. First year
Alec Chen (Edina, Minn./Edina) took third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.69.
Others swimming well were sophomore
Adrian Aguilar (Oakland, Calif./St. Joseph's Notre Dame), who was fourth in the 50 freestyle, sophomore
Adam Schroeder (Altadena, Calif./St. Francis), who took fourth in the 100 freestyle, sophomore
Ramier Villarama (Bayonne, N.J./High Tech), who placed fifth in the 50 freestyle, first year
Casey Meretta (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill), who finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle, and sophomore
Ryan McNeff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), who was fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.
Macalester honored senior
Jarrett Rose (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) during the meet as a part of Senior Day.
The Scots will participate in the Minnesota Invitational at the University of Minnesota on Feb. 4 in the final meet before the MIAC Championships.
