ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team hosted the Vanessa Seljeskog Classic today. The Scots finished fourth among eight teams.
Sophomore
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) continues to impress this season, placing third in the 60m dash. His time of 7.05 tied the all-time record at Macalester, set by Jack Schultenover in 2017. Heitler also finished third in the 200m dash, with a time of 22.80. His time is the second-best all-time record at Macalester.
The Scots also dominated in the 3000m run. Sophomores
Tor Olsson (Northampton, Mass./Northampton),
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast), and
Nick Ihrke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) finished second, third, and sixth respectively. Their times of 8:42.46, 8:43.39, and 8:50.69 rank third, fourth, and tenth all-time in Macalester history. Fellow sophomore
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville) took seventh in the event.
In the field, sophomore
Max Menache (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills) took second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.06m (46' 1.50"). Coming in just behind Menache was senior
Victory Wright (Cape Coral, Fla./Mariner). Wright registered a mark of 13.69m (44' 11"). Furthermore, sophomore
Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.86m (42' 2.25").
The Scots return to action next Saturday, Jan. 28, at the St. Olaf Quad in Northfield, Minn.
