SARTELL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team received strong performances from its first year players at the CSB Invite, held at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course Saturday and Sunday. The Scots placed fifth out of 13 teams in the team standings with a two-round score of 668. The competition included 11 of the 12 MIAC teams, plus UW-Eau Claire and a second team from St. Catherine, which placed fourth.
First year
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) carded an 80 79 - 159 to tie for seventh overall as Macalester's low scorer. Junior
Phebe Chen (South Barrington, Ill./Barrington) tied for 23rd with a two-round score of 168, while first year
Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) tied for 31st with a 172. Sophomore
Lauren Petro (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) and first year
Scarlett Liu (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) were one stroke apart and finished 42nd and 44th, respectively.
Macalester will play in the Georgianni Blugold Invitational on Sept. 10-11 at Wild Ridge Golf Course.
