St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team was received All-Academic Team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced today. In addition,
Hannah Grosse (Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids) and
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors.
The women's team ended the season with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.693. The USTFCCCA requires a 3.10 team cumulative GPA to be recognized as an All-Academic Team.
To qualify for individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have either competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship, or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 individually or top 35 in a relay.
Grosse broke the school record in the pole vault, clearing 3.60 meters (11' 9.75") at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invite on April 9. The effort ranks 40
th in Division III.
Amundson jumped a personal best of 11.57 meters (37' 11.5") in the triple jump at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier on May 19. The mark ranks 42
nd in Division III.
