St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team heads to Northfield for the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Carleton hosts the Championships which starts on Thursday with multi events and runs through Saturday.
Several athletes have posted top 10 performances in the conference this season, ahead of the championships. Senior
Hannah Grosse (Minneapolis, Minn./Coon Rapids) ranks second in pole vault, clearing 3.46 meters (11' 4.25"), which broke her own school record she set in 2020. Junior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) also had a top three performance in field this season, being seeded third in triple jump with a mark of 10.96 meters (35' 11.5"). Amundson is also a contender in long jump, ranking 11
th in the MIAC. On the track, sophomore
Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) ranks in the top 10 of two events. Blaesing ranks third in the mile run with a time of 5:05.91 and is seeded fourth in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:02.90.
Other Scots with solid chances to place well include first year
Adisa Preston (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) in the 400-meter dash, senior
Lena Stern (Seattle, Wash./Garfield) in the 1000-meter run and sophomore
Sylvia Greene (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) in distance events.
Due to space limitations inside the Recreation Center and the large number of teams participating (13 schools total), spectators will
not be allowed at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Follow along with
