Men's Swimming and Diving: Macalester Swims Against Pioneers At Home

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester men's swimming and diving team hosted Grinnell College today and finished behind the Pioneers.

First year Tanner Hubbard (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) started the Scots off with a second place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:46.08. He continued to swim well as he swam to fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke.

In the 100-yard backstroke, senior Taylor Durbin (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase) swam to second place in 56.76. He also placed third in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:06.67.

First year Ben Blomquist (Las Vegas, Nev./Ed W. Clark) continued to perform well as he placed first in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.40 and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Scots swept the 200-yard individual medley with senior Paul Reischmann (St. Petersburg, Fla./Shorecrest Prep) placing first, 2:14.75. He was followed consecutively by junior Jay West (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) and first year Kiran Arquin (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central).

In diving, sophomore Kieran Cuddy (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) dove to first in the 3-meter dive and second in the 1-meter dive.
