MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- On Thursday, September 21 the Men's Cross Country team faced off against St. Thomas to take home the Summit Cup for the first time in eleven years. The four mile course was located on Pike Island in Minneapolis.
Macalester won the dual meet with a score of 22 points, with Mac's scoring pack all placing in the top 10. Junior Spencer Grant (Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) led the way as the individual race winner. Grant completed the course in 21:43.
Next to cross the line for the Scots was junior Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif. / Head-Royce School) in 21:56 for a 2nd place finish. Boranian was followed by sophomore Jake Lepak (St. Louis, Mo. / St. Louis University HS) who completed the course in 22:07 for 4th place. Junior Mac Doherty (Madison, Wis. / Madison East) followed just behind in 5th place with a time of 22:15. The final scorer for the Mac Pack was sophomore Peter Jarka-Sellers (Philadelphia, Pa. / Germantown Friends School) who finished in 23:07 for 10th place.
The Men's Cross Country team competes next on September 30 in Northfield at the Carleton Running of the Cows.
