Biography

As a Scot
Member of Mac Dems… Studied abroad in Austria and Germany during his junior year… Has interned on the Walz/Flanagan Campaign and the Carter Campaign, as well as in the Office of Senator Jon Tester…  Participated in FairVote and Citizens' Climate Lobby.

2018
Raced four times in his junior season… Finished 18th at the KollegeTown Pre-National Meet on Oct. 13 with a time of 29:19… Put up his best 8k of the season at the MIAC Championships, finishing in 28:39.

2017
Started the year with a PR in the 5k, finishing the Augsburg Open in 17:37, which put him among the top-30 finishers… Placed 26th at the Falcon Invite on Sept. 8 with a time of 28:00… Finished 10th at the Summit Cup, completing the four-mile course in 23:07… Posted a PR 8k at the MIAC Championships on Oct. 27 (27:17), placing him in the top-50.

2016
Participated in six races for the Scots in his first year… Opened the season at the Augsburg Alumni Meet, finishing the 5k course in 17:56… Placed in the top-30 at the Summit Cup four-mile, with a time of 23:39… Ran his fastest 8k of the year at the MIAC Championships on Oct. 29, finishing in 29:12.

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I liked the values, culture, and location of Mac. Academically, socially, and athletically it seemed to give me everything I wanted.
 

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I have learned a lot, made great friends, had great professors, and been able to develop generally. Mac has served me well academically and athletically.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
It has helped teach me to focus on long term goals, discipline from intense training, and working towards a common goal with a group of people.
