ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team defeated Hamline University, 5-4 in a MIAC dual Saturday afternoon at Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots improve to 7-8 overall and 3-5 in the conference with the win, while the Pipers fall to 2-12, 1-8 MIAC.

Macalester won one of the three doubles matches, as juniors Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) and Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-2. In singles, Stein and O'Herin were victorious at third and sixth singles, respectively. Sophomores Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory Schools) and Jessica Ilc (Niles, Ill./Maine East) wrapped up the match for the Scots with straight-set wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

Next up for Macalester is another MIAC home dual against St. Olaf College on Tuesday, Apr. 25, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
