ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team edged the College of Saint Benedict, 5-4 in a MIAC dual Saturday afternoon. The Scots even their overall record at 6-6 while improving to 2-3 in the conference. The Blazers drop to 9-8, 2-3 MIAC.

Macalester took two of the three doubles matches to set the tone. Juniors Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) and Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-5, with sophomore Jessica Ilc (Niles, Ill./Maine East) and first year Jen Koehler (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) earning an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Stein, Ilc and O'Herin were victorious at fourth, fifth and sixth singles, respectively, with Stein's three-set triumph over Ellen Stensrud proving to be the difference in the team scoring.

The Scots take on St. Catherine University on Apr. 11 in another MIAC dual.
