LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team picked up its first MIAC victory of the season with an 8-1 triumph over Concordia College Saturday afternoon at Lifetime Fitness. The Scots are now 5-6 overall and 1-3 in league play, while the Cobbers drop to 0-10, 0-6 MIAC.

Macalester won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. The Scots' top doubles tandem of junior Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and first year Jen Koehler (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) earned an 8-1 win. Sophomore Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory Schools) and first year Claire Buehler (Houston, Texas/Awty International School) defeated their opponent at No. 2 doubles, 8-2, while junior Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) and sophomore Jessica Ilc (Niles, Ill./Maine East) won at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.

Buehler, Stein, Ilc, O'Herin and first year Camilla Bendetti (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) were victorious at first, third, fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

Next up for Macalester is a MIAC dual at the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday, Apr. 1 in St. Joseph, Minn.
