WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team lost to Saint Mary's University, 6-3 in a MIAC dual Friday night at Lifetime Fitness. The Scots fall to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference, while the Cardinals improve to 7-3, 3-3 MIAC.

Macalester earned one point in doubles, as sophomore Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory Schools) and first year Claire Buehler (Houston, Texas/Awty International School) won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-5. In singles play, junior Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) defeated Julia Boeve in straight sets at fourth singles. Junior Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) also was victorious at sixth singles, beating Sheyenne Bauer, 6-1, 6-0. The Scots suffered narrow, three-set losses at first and fifth singles that proved to be the difference in the team scoring.

Macalester will face Concordia College on Saturday, Mar. 25, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville, Minn.
