ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team lost a MIAC dual to visiting Hamline University, 7-2 Friday afternoon at the Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots are now 4-12 overall and 1-8 in conference play, while the Pipers improve to 7-12, 2-8 MIAC.

Macalester's top doubles tandem of sophomore Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) and first year Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory Schools) earned a point with a 9-7 victory at No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) picked up the Scots' other victory with a win at No. 2 singles in straight sets. Senior Rachel Seidner (San Antonio, Texas/International School of the Americas) and O'Herin had close matches at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, with both players losing in three sets.

Macalester closes out the 2016 season with a conference dual against Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday, May 1, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hayden Courts.
