WINONA, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team dropped a MIAC dual at Saint Mary's University, 5-4 Sunday afternoon. The Scots fall to 3-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play, while the Cardinals improve to 13-7, 4-6 MIAC.

Macalester won two of the three doubles matches, as first years Della Brown (Chicago, Ill./Univ. of Chicago Laboratory Schools) and Saniya Rana (Noida, Uttar Pradesh/United World College) won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, and sophomores Nina Brim (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) and Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) were victorious at No. 3 doubles, 9-7.

Rana won her match in straight sets at second singles, and sophomore Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northview) came back to defeat Sheyenne Bauer at sixth singles, 2-6, 7-5, 10-8. But Saint Mary's won the other four singles matches in straight sets to take the dual.

Macalester hosts St. Catherine in another MIAC dual on Tuesday, Apr. 19 at Hayden Courts.
