OWATONNA, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's tennis team took on Bethany Lutheran College in Saturday morning action at Lifetime Fitness in Owatonna. The Scots defeated the Vikings, 7-2 after winning five of six singles matches and earning two wins in doubles play. The Scots improve to 2-2 overall as Bethany Lutheran falls to 1-8 this season.

Three Macalester players earned multiple victories on the day. Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill. / New Trier) didn't lose a single game today as she defeated Megan Braatz 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and went on to win at No. 3 doubles with teammate Rainah Ward (Northfield, Minn. / Northfield), 8-0.

Macalester's No. 5 singles player, Maegan O'Herin (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Northview) defeated Sabrina Batalden 6-4, 6-3 and won at No. 2 doubles with Nina Brim (Portland, Ore. / Cleveland), 8-0. Brim was the third Scot to earn two wins today, and the second without losing a single game. She defeated Madalyn Elmquist 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Macalester will return to action on March 14 as they kick off spring break action in Orlanda, Fla. when they take on Calvin College.
