WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's tennis team fell to St. Scholastica, 9-0 in a team dual late Monday night. The Scots drop to 1-1 this season and the Saints improve to 3-1 this year.
Singles competition produced a few close battles, particularly at the number three and number six spots. Sophomore
Lily Stein (Winnetka, Ill./ New Trier) defeated Daniela Rojas in set one, 6-3 before falling in set two (6-4) and the super-tie breaker (10-7).
Sophomore
Nina Brim (Portland, Ore./ Cleveland) battled back from a set one loss to take set two, 6-4 before falling in a super-breaker 10-7.
The Scots will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 20 when they open up MIAC play against St. Olaf College in Owatonna, Minn. The dual is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
