NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College women's swimming and diving team lost a dual to St. Olaf, 184-72 Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Natatorium. Junior Smaranda Georgescu (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) had two second-place finishes for the Scots.

Georgescu was second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.90 seconds. She also placed second in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:19.53. Sophomore Kaia Lund (Mondovi, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial) turned in a second-place time of 2:07.42 in the 200 yard freestyle, while first year Missy Stevanovic (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) placed second in the 100- yard breaststroke in 1:07.77. Junior Kaila Chapman (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial ) covered the 200 yard butterfly in 2:26.99 to place second. Senior Christina Bloom (Henderson, Nev./Coronado) also earned a second-place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:43.20.

The Scots take on Hamline University in a dual on Jan. 23.
