MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --Â Macalester grabbed a 2-1 lead in doubles play but dropped five of six singles matches in a 6-3 loss to Saint Mary's at the Baseline Tennis Center.
Katelyn Glenna and
Riley Menagh were 8-6 winners at number one singles and
Gabby Queenan and
Lily Stein won, 8-5, at two doubles as the Scots entered singles play with a one-point lead.
However,
Emily Fule's 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 win at six singles would be the only victory Macalester would get the rest of the afternoon.
The loss drops the Scots to 4-7 overall and 0-4 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. They will return to action Sunday morning with a 10 a.m. match versus Saint Benedict at the Fitness Revolution Tennis Center in Sartell, Minn.
