ST. PAUL, Minn. -- All six singles matches had at least one 6-0 set win for Macalester and two of the three doubles matches went 8-0 in favor of the Scots as they defeated Bethany Lutheran, 9-0, at the Leonard Center.
Emily Fule did not suffer a lost game on the afternoon as she won her match at six singles, 6-0, 6-0, over Kaitlyn Bolte before teaming with
Gabby Queenan at two doubles for an 8-0 victory over Kasarah Smart and Emma Kinney.
Katelyn Glenna, at one singles, was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner, over Morgan Schwartz, after an 8-1 win at one doubles, along with
Maegan O'Herin, over Schwartz and Rachel Rosemore.
In other singles play, Queenan defeated Rosemore, 6-0, 6-4, at two singles,
Lily Stein was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at three singles over Smart, O'Herin won her four singles match over Kinney, 6-2, 6-0, and
Gabi Rivera was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at five singles over Justine Bennett.
At three doubles, Stein and Rivera teamed up to defeat Bennett and Danelle Belisle, 8-0.
Macalester opens Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Sunday when it hosts St. Catherine in a 4 p.m. match at the University of Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center.
