Macalester vs. Bethel box score

Playing for the first time in 26 days, the Scots shook off the rust and played a quality match Wednesday night at Lakeville's Lifetime Fitness Club, but were denied by Bethel in a narrow 5-4 MIAC match.  Macalester fought for close wins at first, second and third singles, but BU won five of the other six matches.

Macalester singles winners were Paige Schaefer (Sr., Madison, Wis. / East) at No. 1 (6-2, 4-6, 10-4), Katelyn Glenna (So., Winona, Minn.) at No. 2 (4-6, 7-5, 10-1) and Carmen Whitehead (Jr., Greeley, Colo. / West) at No. 3 (0-6, 7-6, 10-5).

Schaefer and Alisha Roopchand (So., Woodbridge, Conn. / Amity Regional) played to a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Macalester, now 2-9 on the spring season and 0-4 in the MIAC, plays Saturday (April 20) at Hamline.
