After wrapping up the regular-season in second place in the league standings, the Macalester Scots have clinched the No. 2 seed in this week's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) playoffs and will host a first-round game Tuesday (Nov. 5) against No. 3 seed St. Olaf at 7:30 p.m. The conference championship match will be played Saturday (Nov. 9) at the site of the highest remaining seeded team.
On the other side of the bracket are regular-season champ St. Benedict and No. 4-seeded Concordia-Moorhead. The MIAC playoff winner will represent the conference in the upcoming NCAA Division III playoffs.
Macalester is making its ninth appearance in the MIAC playoffs and is going for its third playoff title after winning the trophy in 2004 and 2005.

St. Olaf comes into the MIAC post-season at 9-6-2 overall and 7-3-1 in the MIAC. Macalester won 3-1 when these two teams hooked up Oct. 12 in Northfield.
