Macalester vs. St. Mary's box score

Macalester closed out its 2012 campaign with its third straight victory, edging St. Mary's 5-4 in a closely-contested MIAC battle in Winona.  The Scots finish with a winning 10-9 record on the spring season and end at 3-7 in the conference.

The match started with the Scots claiming two of the three doubles matches.  Alicia Roopchand (Fy., Woodbridge, Conn. / Amity Regional) and Paige Schaefer (Jr., Madison, Wis. / East) won at No. 2 doubles, and the pair of Lucy Miner (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) and Gabby Queenan (Fy., Bedford, Mass.) took a close match at No. 3.

Mac split the six singles matches to hold off the Cards (11-10 overall / 2-6 MIAC), getting hard-fought wins from Roopchand at No. 3, Carmen Whitehead (So., Greeley, Colo. / West) at No. 4 and Miner at No. 6.
