Macalester vs. St. Benedict box score

St. Benedict topped Macalester 7-2 Sunday at the 98th Street Racket Club in Bloomington.

The Scots won one singles match and one doubles match against the Blazers.  Paige Schaefer (Jr., Madison, Wis. / East) boosted her singles record to 4-3 on the season by playing to a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 2.  At third doubles, the Scots received a hard-fought 8-6 win from Lucy Miner (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) and Carmen Whitehead (So., Greeley, Colo. / West)

Macalester is now 4-5 overall and 0-4 in the MIAC, and returns to action Saturday (March 3) against St. Thomas at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis at 6:30 p.m.  Then it's off to Hilton Head, South Carolina, for five matches over Spring Break March 11-16.
