Macalester challenged a pair of MIAC and regional powers over the weekend and were beat by 9-0 scores.  The Scots dropped their MIAC opener Friday to Carleton at Bloomington's 98th Street Club and fell Saturday to Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter.

Carleton is ranked No. 21 in the NCAA Division III and sixth in the Central Region, while the Gusties are No. 15 nationally and No. 4 in the region.

Macalester has two more MIAC matches next weekend at the 98th Street Club.  The Scots play St. Catherine Saturday (Feb. 25) at 6:30 p.m. and take on St. Benedict Sunday (Feb. 26) at 3 p.m.
