Macalester vs. Northwestern box score
Macalester played its final non-conference game of the season – a nine-inning contest at Northwestern-Roseville, and toppled the Eagles 10-4 for the team's 11th win in a row. The Scots are a sizzling 17-2 since April 5, with their two losses each coming by just a single run.
The Scots pounded out 16 hits, including four doubles, and received a solid starting pitching effort from
Nick Agrawal (Fy., Fort Mill, S.C. / Charlotte Christian School), who gave up just a run and five hits while striking out eight in seven innings of work.
Colin Carpenter (Fy., Harvard, Ill.) went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI,
Robert Williams (Jr., West Covina, Calif. / Northview) was 3-for-4, and leadoff batter
Graham Brown (Jr., Annandale, Minn.) was 3-for-6. These three were a combined 10-for-15.
At 13-1 in the MIAC, the Scots return to conference action tomorrow when they host St. Thomas at 2:30 p.m. The Tommies and Hamline (both 12-4) are two games behind first-place Macalester in the race for the MIAC championship. A victory in either game for Macalester would clinch a berth in the four-team MIAC post-season playoffs.
