Macalester vs. St. Catherine box score

Macalester wrapped up its spring season by defeating St. Catherine 5-4 at the Lifetime Fitness Club in Lakeville. The Scots finished with an 8-9 spring record and 2-8 MIAC mark.

Macalester went 4-for-4 in the top and middle parts of the singles lineup, winning at first, second, third and fourth singles, and also pulled out a close decision at No. 2 doubles.

Paige Schaefer (So., Madison, Wis. / East) and Abby Citrin (Sr., Rye Brook, N.Y. / Blind Brook) dominated at the top of the lineup. Schaefer won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Citin cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2. Citrin finished the year with the team's best singles record (11-6) and best record in MIAC play (4-6).

Lauren Dutkiewicz (Sr., St. Charles, Ill. / North) and Carmen Whitehead (Fy., Greeley, Colo. / West) won battles at third and fourth singles. Dutkiewicz took a 4-6, 6-4, (10-8) victory at No. 3 and Whitehead won 6-7, 6-0, (10-6) at No. 4.

Mac's No. 2 doubles tandem of Dutkiewicz and Whitehead came out on top 8-6.
