Macalester vs. St. Mary's box score

After dropping two of the three doubles matches, Macalester went 4-2 in singles play to topple St. Mary's 5-4 at Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots claim their first conference victory and more to 7-7 overall and 1-5 in the MIAC. SMU drops to 7-10 on the year, 3-6 in MIAC play.

The Scots gained victories at second, third, fourth and fifth singles. Abby Citrin (Sr., Rye Brook, N.Y. / Blind Brook) won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2; Lauren Dutkiewicz (Sr., St. Charles, Ill. / North) won 3-6, 6-2, (10-7) at No. 3; Carmen Whitehead (Fy., Greeley, Colo. West) won 6-3, 7-6 at No. 4; and at No. 5, Louise Dickson (Sr., North Oaks, Minn. / Mounds View) won 6-3, 6-1.

Mac's double's triumph came at No. 2, where Dutkiewicz and Whitehead claimed a a hard-fought 9-7 decision.

Macalester's match tomorrow with Sioux Falls (S.D.) has been postponed because of the weather forecast. The Scots return to competition next Friday (April 15) at home against Concordia-Moorhead at 6 p.m.
