Macalester vs. Bethel box score

Away from competition for 11 days, the Macalester women's tennis squad returned to action Tuesday in Arden Hills in a 7-2 MIAC defeat to Bethel. The Scots drop to 7-9 on the season and 1-7 in the MIAC.

Macalester wins came at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, and Abby Citrin (Sr., Rye Brook, N.Y. / Blind Brook) was involved in both. Citin boosted her singles record on the year to a team-best 10-5 by playing to a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win at second singles. She also teamed with Paige Schaefer (So., Madison, Wis. / East) to gain a 6-2 decision at No. 1 doubles.

The Scots have two matches remaining on the 2011 spring season – Sunday (May 1) at home against Gustavus at 3 p.m. and Monday (May 2) at home against St. Catherine at 5 p.m.
