Macalester wins fourth in a row

Macalester vs. Grinnell statistics

Macalester received two goals from Stephen Murphy-Logue (Jr., Anchorage, Ak. / West) and one from Jeremy Carp (So., Portland, Ore. / Oregon Episcopal School) to pick up its fourth win in a row, a 3-2 decision over Grinnell in Grinnell, Iowa. The Scots are now 5-3-1 on the season and play tomorrow at Simpson.

Murphy-Logue converted a penalty kick to tie the score at 40:02 after the Pioneers took the early lead with a score in the 10th minute. Carp put the Scots up 2-1 with a score in the 78th minute for his first goal of the season and second of his career.

Carp then assisted on Murphy-Logue's clinching goal with just 2:30 left in regulation.

Grinnell is now 4-4 on the season.

Macalester out-shot the Pioneers 23-12 and owned an 8-5 margin in shots on goal.  Goalkeeper Matt Weyer (So., Cedarburg, Wis.) made three saves to record the win.

After playing tomorrow at Simpson, the Scots return to MIAC action next Wednesday (Oct. 30) at Carleton.  Mac will bring a 2-0 league record into that match.
