Why I chose Macalester:
“I was extremely excited when I was accepted at Macalester. The academic profile for Mac was outstanding, and I was very excited about the prospect for playing soccer at a school where it seems to be appreciated by the students. My campus visits were extremely beneficial because I got the sense that I could belong in college life. The diversity of students here is very important to me, and I look forward to my time at Macalester”

What Macalester has meant to me so far:
"As a result of my freshman year at Macalester, I feel like my life has really expanded beyond what I thought it could possibly be. I was welcomed into the program, not only on the field, but socially as well. I was presented with a multitude of challenges last year, and the new family I am a part of here certainly played a large role in making it a successful first year of college. I look forward to my sophomore year at Mac with knowing the Macalester community will support me through another testing year."

Macalester through Junior Year:
"As a junior at Macalester College, I am even more pleased with the choice I made as a high school senior to attend Mac. I have had a wonderful experience as a part of the Macalester community. My involvement in men’s soccer allows me to spend a lot of time with a great group of student athletes who make each of my days better. Winning the conference tournament and making the second round of the NCAA tournament are memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. The team chemistry has been absolutely sensational since I arrived as a freshman. In addition to enjoying the part I play as part of the program, I am challenged every day as a student here at Mac. My professors understand how to push my peers and I to the limits of our learning, but each of them value the relationships they have with their students. All of my professors have made themselves very accessible for any questions or concerns I have, making the rigorous nature of courses here at Mac much more manageable. The experiences I will have in my years at Macalester will help me pursue my goals throughout my life, knowing that nothing is unattainable."
