Macalester vs. Gustavus Adolphus statistics
Macalester challenged one of the MIAC's top teams in the conference opener for both squads at the Leonard Center and came out on the losing end of a 16-25, 12-25, 20-25 sweep by Gustavus Adolphus, an NCAA Division III playoff team from a year ago. The Gusties improve to 7-4 and the Scots fall to 3-7.
Gustavus attacked at a .244 percentage and had four players with at least six kills.
Marie Godwin (Sr., Chaska, Minn.) led the way for the Scots with eight kills to go along with eight digs.
Glasha Marcon (Fy., Richmond, Calif. / Albany) provided nine digs to lead the back row effort. In addition to getting eight digs from Godwin, the Scots received seven from
Erin Cusac (Sr., Pine River, Minn. / Pine River-Backus) and six from
Anna Trier (Fy., Sun Prairie, Wis.).
The Scots host the
Macalester Invitational this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 18-19) as
head coach Stephanie Schleuder goes for her 700th career win. They take on Dubuque (Ia.) Friday at 7 p.m., Oklahoma Wesleyan Saturday at 12 noon, and Grinnell (Ia.) Saturday at 2 p.m. Mac's matches will be
