Marie Godwin is a 5'7” libero from Chaska, Minnesota . Marie was a defensive stalwart and captain of her Chaska High School team which captured last year's Minnesota State High School championship. She earned three varsity letters in volleyball with the perennial state powerhouse and was named to the All-Lake Conference honorable mention team and the St. Paul Pioneer Press All-State team in 2005. Her team captured the tough Lake Conference championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005. They were section champions and state consolation winners in 2003 and section runner-up in 2004 before winning the state title a year ago. Marie also plays in the Kaepa Northern Lights Club program. Marie has been a three-sport athlete at Chaska, also competing as an honorable mention all-conference Nordic skier and track and field letter-winner.

“I am so excited to have Marie joining our program at Mac,” says Coach Schleuder. “She is a proven winner in everything she does and she will step in immediately to help us.”

Academically, Marie continues to excel. She finished 13th in her class of 593 at Chaska with a 3.99 G.P.A., earning All-State Academic honors in both volleyball and Nordic skiing. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Dean's List I, and is a Chaska High AAA candidate and recently earned an academic scholarship from the Rotary Club of Chaska. Marie is the daughter of Stacy Godwin-Lemke and John Lemke.
