Emily Humphreys (Fy., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) free kick in the 78th minute as Macalester capped a successful weekend by beating Loras 2-1 in Dubuque, Iowa, just one day after topping UW-Platteville by the same score. The unbeaten Scots move to 4-0-1 heading into their MIAC opener, while Loras drops to 3-2-1.
Macalester tallied the first goal at the 29:42 mark when
Emily Bardwell (Jr., Denver, Colo. / East) scored her team-leading fourth goal on a
Maddie Mette (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) assist.
Loras, which has already defeated MIAC strongholds Carleton and St. Thomas, knotted the score at 1-1 17 minutes into the second half.
The game-winner by Gutierrez was her third-goal of the season and second game-winner.
