MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester women's soccer team visited Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minn. for the Scots' eleventh and final MIAC matchup of the season on Friday, Oct. 30. The Scots put together a wire-to-wire win, scoring first, and ending the game in a 3-0 shutout. The Scots started opened the scoring in the first ten minutes with a goal in the eighth minute on a well-placed lower-right hand corner shot. The goal was scored by sophomore Lilly Staples (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) off an assist from junior Ava Arredondo (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park).

Macalester kept the scoring going by shooting another to put them up 2-0 in the 28th minute with a goal by sophomore Lindsay Edmonson (North Kingstown, R.I/La Salle Academy) in the high center of the goal. The goal was assisted by sophomore Mikayla Edmunds (Falls Church, Va./Georgetown Visitation).

The Auggies could not stop the bleeding in the first half, as they added their third goal of the half to put the Scots up 3-0 in the 41st minute. This time, junior Erica Hamilton (Los Angeles, Calif./Palisades Charter) found twine, off an assist by first-year Jane Rowe (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) and senior Annelise McGee (Stonington, Conn./Stonington), finding the lower right-hand corner of the goal. The Scots closed out the half up 3-0, and leading in shots 11-3 in their dominant first-half performance.

Macalester did not add to the scoresheet in the second half, with shots finishing 4-3 in the Auggies favor, but they closed out their lead with a shutout with two saves from senior goalkeeper Lily Salazar (Oakland, Calif./Bentley Upper School).
